Purpose

The purpose of D.i.r.e.c.t is to provide the following:

1) Radio communications and marshals, for charity organisations and voluntary groups who need to keep control on their events without having to have messengers running around from point to point

2) Radio communications in times of a local emergency at the request of the police and or the Dacorum Emergency Planning team.

(please note that DIRECT does not do first aid but we some times allow other groups to use our equipment)

The team was originally formed in 1990, to provide radio communications for Bob Champion Cancer Ride around the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire.
